Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Scope

This policy explains how Empora handles personal information collected through this website, empora.com. The Empora marketplace is not yet open to the public. When it launches, account holders will be presented with the platform privacy policy covering marketplace activity such as listings, bidding, and payments; that policy will supplement this one.

Information we collect

This website has no user accounts, runs no advertising, and carries no analytics or advertising trackers. We collect personal information in three ways:

  • Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and whatever you choose to write. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence.
  • The mailing list. If you subscribe, we collect the email address you enter and the fact that you confirmed it. We use it to send you the letter and to tell you when Empora opens. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
  • Technical request data. Our hosting and content delivery provider records standard server information for each request, including IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp. This is used to serve the site, diagnose faults, and protect against abuse.

Cookies

Our email signup form is provided by Kit, and Kit's script may set cookies on your browser to recognise you if you return to the form. We set no advertising or analytics cookies of our own.

One further strictly necessary cookie is set if you sign in to our private pre-release preview using an access code. It records that the code was accepted, expires after seven days, and is never used to track you.

Third parties

This site is served through Amazon Web Services, which processes request data on our behalf as described above. Our mailing list is run on Kit, which stores subscriber email addresses and sends our email on our behalf; subscribing sends your address to Kit. Typography is loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. We share personal information with nobody else, and we never sell it.

Retention

Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and to keep reasonable business records. Mailing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are retained on a short rolling basis and then discarded.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain processing. Write to support@empora.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here.
